1. Passcode Unlock:
Press the power or home buttons to unlock the iPhone, as appropriate):
Enter the device's passcode (a numeric or alphanumeric combination) on the lock screen. The iPhone will unlock and take you to the home screen if the passcode is accurate.
2. Face ID (applicable to iPhone X and later models):
By pressing the screen or lifting it, you can activate the iPhone. To allow Face ID to scan your face, look into the device's front-facing camera.
The phone will instantly unlock and bring you to the home screen if it recognises your face.
3. Touch ID (applicable to iPhone SE (2nd generation), iPhone 8, and earlier models):
Typically found on the home button, place your registered finger on the Touch ID sensor. You will be brought to the home screen and the smartphone will unlock if your fingerprint is recognised.
NOTE Resetting your iPhone may be necessary if you've forgotten your passcode or are having difficulties unlocking it. The data on your iPhone will be completely erased if you reset it, so make a backup of your data before you do so.
